Brandon Rivers is part of a movement currently taking place in British music. But he’s no follower. He’s been developing his own sound for a global audience.
A bad boy with lushly compelling vocals, Brandon Rivers fuses Trap, Pop and Alternative R&B giving him a sound he describes as ‘after-dark pop’ .
ONE TO WATCH
Brandon has been declared by BBC Introducing as “one to watch”. Played the Victorious Festival in 2018 as well as a 'newcomer set' at Bestival the same year and, in summer 2019, progressed to a main stage performance at Camp Bestival.
He writes, sings, plays and records with influences taken from early Prince through to current artists such as Drake, Post Malone and Ariana Grande if you’re looking for musical references.
SYMPHONIC INTENTIONS
Born in the New Forest, Hampshire, England in 1996, Brandon soon announced his symphonic intentions to his parents by picking up his father’s guitar [aged 9]. He began to write indie based songs going on to form several bands at school.
He grew up listening to David Bowie, Prince and Nirvana and seeing artists such as Prince, Lenny Kravitz, Green Day and U2 perform live.
He’d often come in from school and go straight out again to play a 25-minute set of his own material live at well-regarded venues such as The Joiners in Southampton and other spots in Hampshire, Dorset, Bristol and London.
